Kristin Viens was born outside of Albany in Upstate NY. With a darkroom in her
parents' house and a father who was a part-time photographer Kristin found an easy
outlet for her creative urge. She attended school at Montana State University where she
studied the art of filmmaking and moved to Los Angeles after graduating. She worked
for some very distinguished film companies such as Walt Disney Studios, 20th
Century Fox, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and Columbia Tri Star Pictures. In the
long run it was Photography that really held her heart. She moved back to the East
Coast and attended the Hallmark Institute of Photography where she earned top
honors. Upon graduating she was presented the Mamiya Award of Excellence and
published in Popular Photography. Shortly after she was featured in an
article on www.takegreatpictures.com where they praised her creativity as opening
“up the portals of possibility”.
Kristin has assisted top photographers in New Mexico and New York City.
Her work as an independent photographer has encompassed a wide range of
products and people for companies such as Awesco, AMI Publishers, CR Clay,
EG Animal Hospital and designer Sherry Wolf. She has been published in New Mexico
Magazine, Oklahoma Today, and The District Magazine. Kristin continues to prove that
“a picture is worth a thousand words.” She accesses your imagination with her unique
vision and the click of a shutter. As Kristin would say “There is nothing quite as
rewarding as living your dream”. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
